Penne Alla Vodka
Ingredients
- 1 LB penne
- 4 tablespoons of Vodka
- 1 whole onion
- 1 small tube of tomato paste or 1 can of tomato sauce
- Heavy cream
- 4 garlic cloves (diced)
Steps
- Cook penne in a pot
- Add oil to pan and cook garlic until slightly brown
- Add onion and cook until slightly brown on edges
- Add tomato paste and mix well (if using tomato sauce, add it and reduce until it becomes a paste)
- Once pan starts to brown at the bottom, add the vodka (important: for gas stoves, move pan away from fire, alcohol is flammable!)
- Mix for a bit to burn off alcohol, then reduce to medium-low flame
- Add heavy cream a little bit at a time (constantly taste until texture is slightly creamy or to your taste)
- Mix well with cooked penne
- Optionally, sprinkle grated parmesan cheese on top
